Inifinite Legroom: Tamsen Fadal's Guide to NYC

Infinite Legroom: We continue our series of local guides to New York City by connecting with Emmy award-winning journalist Tamsen Fadal of PIX11 news. Tamsen has been covering news local and global for PIX11 since 2008 and with that comes years of exploring the city she calls home. From her favorite coffee shop to great places to relax, sightsee and more, Tamsen shares her list of some of the best things to do in New York City on your next visit.

Eat at Bar Pitti

I love to find places where the locals go to eat. I discovered Bar Pitti about 10 years ago and it’s the place you will find me at the first hint of Spring. I love eating outside, watching people go by and experiencing food that tastes like I’m sitting in a Piazza in Italy. Just a reminder it’s cash only (268 6th Avenue).

Laugh at The Comedy Cellar

Drop by just because you never know who you might see – it’s a good place to be. In this case, Jon Stewart and Louis C.K. are among the famed comedians recenlty who have made surprise appearances at The Comedy Cellar (117 Macdougal Street).

Walk The High Line

There is something special about a park that is built in the air so to speak. The High Line is built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the West Side from Gansevoort Street to West 34th. You’ll find beautiful scenes of the city and the river plus it’s a great place to walk and explore year round because it always looks a little bit different.
