When trying to focus, have you struggled with interruptions, poor planning, multitasking, or procrastination?
Andrew Mellen calls these some of the “7 Deadly Time Thieves” and has a solution for us to get and stay organized so we can work more productively to achieve our goals. Andrew is a professional organizer, keynote speaker, executive coach, and author of "Unstuff Your Life." He’s helped thousands of people crush the overwhelm they face in everyday life and boost their productivity.
Andrew emphasized the power of decluttering, not just our physical spaces, but also our minds. How we think about and interact with stuff has a huge impact on our productivity. So, if you find yourself drowning in a sea of belongings or constantly shuffling things from room to room, it might be time to shift your mindset.
We also discussed the importance of aligning our actions with our core values and goals. Whatever it is you do, what matters is how you want to spend your time. Andrew dropped a crazy statistic: the average person loses one year of their life searching for lost or misplaced items. What would you do with an extra year?!
Andrew recommends using task management apps, like Asana or Trello, to keep everything organized in oneplace. He also believes in chunking up tasks by break them down into smaller, manageable steps, so you have a clear idea of what needs to be done.
